An unusual animated movie is in the works at DC Studios. Two of Batman's famous sidekicks will be in the spotlight for the first time in 2D in the movie titled Dynamic Duo.
With a release date set for September 22, 2028, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and Swaybox Studios will help bring the movie to life.
There are currently no plans to release the movie on Vidmate Pro.
Rather than following Batman or one of his alter-egos like we see in most Batman centered projects, this movie will look at the relationship between Grayson and Todd while they were Robin.
Intriguing different animation styles and familiar but altered comic book histories makes this one of DC's more interesting theatrical releases.

What Is Dynamic Duo About?
The connection between Dick Grayson and Jason Todd will be the basis for this movie.
According to DC, the project will explore their connection, but an official plot synopsis has not been released.
Dick Grayson, in the comics, starts out as Batman's first Robin after he experiences a tragic childhood event. He later goes on to lead a solo career as Nightwing.
Jason Todd later takes on the identity of Robin and later is associated with the vigilante identity of Red Hood.
Again, these comics should not be seen as a confirmed description of what happens in the movie. DC may use established elements of the comics and alter them.
Batman is the center of the DC universe and has been for decades. Batman has been in numerous animated movies and live actions movies. The Dynamic Duo will branch off from those and take a different approach.
Instead of focusing on the individual with the caped crusader, the spotlight will be on the individuals who have or are challenged by Batman's philosophy on crime fighting.
Jason and Dick Todd have very different personas over the years in the comics. This varies personality and experiences can touch on a broad range of loyalties, identity, and justice.
They can define themselves and their philosophy of crime fighting without having Batman narrate or dominate every scene.
With a focus on these characters, the movie can touch on the psychological effects of having an alter ego and being a crime fighter while growing up with an individual who defacto shaped your childhood and life.
Precisely how Batman plays into this film has not been cemented by the official announcements.
Swaybox Studios will be doing all of the animation for the film. They are based out of New Orleans.
They have won numerous awards for their imaginative style of filmmaking. Using techniques from stop motion and traditional puppetry, they hope to meld 3D computer generated models with tactile surfaces.
In the animation world, this has not been done before on a large scale. The feel of a handcrafted environment will be expressed through different surfaces, textures, and movement.
The end of this project will be determined by Warner Bros. as they release more official teasers and trailers.
Who's Writing and Producing Dynamic Duo?
Matthew Aldrich wrote the original screenplay for the project.
According to various sources, Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber began their work on the project in September 2025.
If changes to the screenplay have occurred, the details have not been revealed to the public.
Matt Reeves is also linked to the project through his production company, 6th & Idaho.
DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran are also associated with the production.
Several actors have been named in show business reporting, including Logan Kim and Mason Thames. However, viewers should understand the difference between rumored casting and an officially announced voice cast.
There are many roles in the film that have yet to be cast.
Dynamic Duo's Importance to DC's Plan
DC Studios is interested in various styles and formats of stories to be told on the big screen.
Dynamic Duo will be one of the first projects to take a format different from the norm.
As part of the ongoing strategy of DC Studios, they want to experiment with as many formats as possible to increase interest in their projects.
There is a lot of speculation online, and audiences interested in entertainment through apps like Vidmate app should understand the difference between online discussion and an announcement made by the studio.
Only information announced by Warner Bros. and its official distributors is legitimate.
Updates on official release information will be posted by Warner Bros. and its authorized distributors.
The release date for Dynamic Duo has changed from June to September 22, 2028.
As of September 2026, industry production listings indicated that the project was still in pre-production.
Notable details that have yet to be disclosed in full include the voice cast, a detailed story outline, international distribution, timing of a trailer, and other marketing materials.
The movie has drawn interest for its premise to explore Batman's legacy through Robin as opposed to Batman himself.
Taking into account the considerable talents involved as well as the unique nature of the project, Dynamic Duo may become a standout entry in the DC Extended Universe.
